Detailed Itinerary
Arrive at Rome airport and transfer to your hotel in a private restored villa, depending on time of arrival, enjoy breakfast with your Italian Safari Tour Director. In the afternoon, relax and shake off any jet lag before meeting your Tour Director for a nice dinner together in a typical Roman trattoria.

Explore Rome with your local guide on an unusual but effective golf cart tour past the Colosseum and the most important monuments and squares. Stop for a unique breakfast near Circo Massimo in a private villa where the owners, while renovating, found the ruins of an ancient Roman villa just below their own. Take advantage of the afternoon to explore famous monuments such as the Fontana di Trevi or the Spanish Steps, all within walking distance of your hotel, before tasting the best local pasta for dinner at a local restaurant.

Travel to the Vatican with your guide and explore the renowned city museums before entering the Sistine Chapel to admire Michelangelo’s finest works. Enjoy a quick lunch in the area before transferring to the Umbrian countryside where you will spend the next two days hunting.

In the morning, on the way to the Florentine countryside, you will stop at a small olive oil producer on Lake Trasimeno. Visit the “frantoio” as well as the olive grove and taste the olive oil produced there during a fun lunch with the owner before continuing on. Upon arrival, check in to your stunning hotel, located in one of the most beautiful villas on the Florentine hills, and enjoy an aperitif overlooking the olive groves and vineyards.

After lunch, depart for Florence and enjoy a guided tour of the Renaissance at the Uffizi Gallery and the Academia with Michelangelo’s David. For dinner, enjoy a bistecca alla Fiorentina in one of the city’s typical “buca” (trattoria).

Transfer to Venice by high-speed train and, after meeting your local guide, take a gondola ride to see the small bridges and canals from the water’s perspective. In the evening, rejoin your guide for the most unique experience Venice has to offer: a private tour of the 11th century Basilica of San Marco, opened and lit up just for you!

Visit the island of Murano with your local guide and learn about the world famous glass where it is made. In the evening, explore behind the closed doors of a private Venetian palace on Canal Grande and be personally hosted for dinner by the owners.

Leave the hunting grounds and head south to the Langhe, one of Italy’s most important culinary regions. Begin your visit to the region with a tour of the Università del Gusto, where the Slow Food concept was developed, before checking into the stunning castle hotel that will host you for your last two days in Italy. Spend the afternoon relaxing in the spa, swimming pool or simply sipping a glass of wine overlooking the vineyards.

Spend the day discovering the two treasures of the Langhe: Barolo wine and white truffles. In the morning, enjoy a truffle hunt with the help of an experienced “trifulau” and his dog. After the hunt, head to the village of Barolo to learn about the grapes and soil that produce this world-famous wine. Conclude your learning by tasting the wine during a unique lunch between the barrels. Enjoy your last evening in Italy with a fun dinner at a typical local trattoria!
